Life Imitating Art. I think.

Last night, someone told me they’d read a recent news story about a guy who’d been repeatedly checked in to a hospital (or hospitals) for a series of overdoses, each time with a new identity. Sounds like a great idea for a novel, but I haven’t had any luck finding the actual story online. If you’re bored at work and feel like trying your luck, let me know if you have any success. In the mean time, here are the latest panels from the graphic novel.
Spread the word, and I’ll see you in a couple of weeks.

No, that headline does not pertain to anything. I just cracked myself up with it, and couldn’t think of anything else.
My collection of Moleskines continues to grow in anticpation of the coming buyout. They won’t become scarce, but the will become cheaper and more flimsy. Since I last mentioned this, a number of readers have emailed, commented, and even left messages via my publisher, offering to procure one or more on my behalf. As grateful as I am, that’s really not necessary. They’re still easy to find, and I usually grab one or two after a good shift at the bar. By the time some corporate megaconglomerate acquires them and dumbs them down for the masses, I’ll have enough stockpiled to last for quite some time.
I’ve been negligent in mentioning the latest releases of my Velvet brothers. First, Demon Theory, from the frightenly prolific Stephen Graham Jones has hit the shelves, and it is one seriously bad-ass read. I swear, the man types with both hands and both feet simultaneously. Second, Will Christopher Baer’s Kiss Me, Judas, was just released in paperback from MacAdam/Cage. This book was on my desert island list long before I met Chris, and the amount of time I’ve spent with him in person hasn’t changed my opinion of the novel one bit.
As usual, Gabor Kiss has been kicking graphic novel ass, and his latest four panels of the Handbook are up.
Spread the word, and stay warm and bound.
